It's Never Too Late

Middle Age - The Physical Age of Reason

Frank Nowicki like many middle aged professionals of today found himself 20 pounds overweight, out of his former excellent shape and on a diet of fast food outlets within walking distance to his place of employment. Instead of hitting the gym every day after work he would hit the closest bars with his friends... SOUND FAMILIAR? How many have heard the tedious mantra of "Eat right, workout and get a good night's sleep." Ha! Easier said than done, especially with the stresses and rigors of daily life. Add in a slower metabolism, energy level and interest - you have just earned a starring role in the movie of your life - Middle Age. In a much younger time of my life, middle age seemed like a myth. What me get fat, out of shape, and tired? Impossible! Now in middle age, the muscular, toned body I had once known was residing under a layer of F-A-T. Yes, the rigors of day-to-day living had snuck up on me like a thief in the night, too bad the thief didn't take away my expanding waist line.
Reality finally hit me when the pricey suits I wore to work ceased being forgiving. As fate would have it, I reconnected with my ol' training partner D'Lynne St. Pierre. The shocked look on her face told the tale and we set out a reasonable training schedule and diet that more closely fit into my lifestyle. A lifestyle where work, socializing and the love of travel could coexist with the exercise and nutritional guidelines I sorely needed.

The biggest hurdle to any middle aged professional is just finding the time and motivation to drag your butt to a gym. Here's some steps that helped me tackle the challenge:

Step One - Buy a set of earphones so you can block out the world.
Step Two - Just don't throw weight around or go through the motions of machines that resemble a medieval torture chamber. Engage the knowledge of a certified fitness professional that can help you achieve attainable goals.
Step Three - Don't give up! You owe it to yourself to live your life to the fullest.

With the help of D'Lynne and The Body Fit regime, I have lost net 15 lbs (25 lbs fat loss, 15 lbs muscle gain) in the past six months, regained the muscle of my youth and retooled my day-to-day existence to include a fitness program that is enjoyable, reasonable and effective!
