Smart Snack Recipes

Don't get caught grabbing a bag of chips for a quick snack! Make sure that you plan ahead so that you have smart snacks to take with you when you're on the go. We have compiled a couple of recipes that you can make ahead of time, freeze and use as you need them.

The Body Fit Muffins

2 cups Oatmeal (whole/old fashioned)
1 1/2 cup Flour (whole grain)
12 Egg Whites
1 cup Nonfat Ricotta Cheese
1 cup
either Nonfat Yogurt, Milk, Sour Cream, OR Soy Product
1 cup
either Applesauce, Pumpkin or Mashed Bananas
1 1/2 cup
either Chopped Apples, Carrots or Zucchini
1/2 cup
either Brown Sugar, Molasses, Honey OR Fructose Powder
2 tbsp. Baking Powder
1 tsp. Baking Soda
1 tsp. of Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Cloves, Ginger, Allspice and Pumpkin OR Apple Pie Spice
1 tbsp. Vanilla



OPTIONAL Ingredients:

1 1/2 cup Granola - low-fat (i.e. Kelloggs, Health Valley OPTIONAL
1/2 cup Wheat germ or Bran Flakes OPTIONAL
1 Egg yolk OPTIONAL
1 tsp. Canola Oil - OPTIONAL
3 scoops Whey Protein Powder - Vanilla (Designer Protein) or Soy Proteion OPTIONAL for HIGH PROTEIN
Mix all ingredients. Pour batter into Pam sprayed muffin tins. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Makes xx muffins.
